GIVEAWAY: Celebrate Bikes and Win Some Free Style
To help promote the 3rd Annual Bike From Work Bash on June 22, 2011, The Denver Egotist, Smith Optics and Cactus are kicking off a contest.
Here is how it works:
Come up with a visualization of what bikes mean to you. This could be a photo, a video, a poster, an interactive design, a Facebook page – you get the point. It just has to be visual.
Tweet a link to your submission and mention @DenverEgotist @BikeFromWork and @SmithOptics. Today, June 17, 2011, we'll choose our favorite one. The winner gets to choose a steezy pair of Smith Optics from the list below. You can submit as many entries as you want.
That's it. Let's have some fun with it.
1. Swindler (frame color black, polarized gray green lens)
2. Swindler (frame color Blue Blazer, polarized gray lens)
3. Chemist (frame color black, polarized gray green lens)
4. Gibson (frame color blue ice, polarized gray lens)
5. Serpico (frame color gold, brown lens)
6. Roundhouse (frame color gray, polarized brown lens)

Can the entries contain music and images that I don't own the rights to?
Sure, it's just for fun.
The first example of your entries includes a direct rip-off of Banksy. I would highly suggest you take it down. While Banksy is not copyrighted, he is a fellow artist and should be respected as such. The original, as seen here:

was done as commentary about the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and the wall that separated them. The fact that this imagery was stolen is both disrespectful and disturbing.
I submitted a piece already but what I really want to submit is my installation piece that opens tomorrow for "A Truck Named Art", more info at my blog beholdesign.com. Any allowance for a late submission? Either way come downtown tomorrow and check it out... fixed gear influence.
