Wow. For someone looking to make the leap to a new side of marketing, this looks like an exceptional event. Having exactly zero experience in an agency setting, but possessing a passion for creative thinking and a strong desire to explore new mediums, an affair like this would be an amazing boost for me, not only as a inspired individual, but more importantly as a job candidate. In addition to being introduced to the newest trends and ideas in the digital market, the chance to meet and interact with leaders in this community would be a prized opportunity. Unfortunately, being within a week of completing grad school means the $2000 price tag is well out of my disposable income range, and leaves me solely at the mercy of those giving away this awesome shot. . . . As such, I hope you see the value in this giveaway for me, since I certainly do. Just invite me. I can ensure I'll make the most of it.

I attended Making Digital Work back in April. It was nothing short of life changing. Great speakers, great content, and exceptionally well produced. It's pricey, but it's an investment that will pay back quickly.

If you doubt that, well,

I should be chosen for Making Digital Work because I want to play. I want to experiment. and I want to learn from said playful experiments. I am hungry for inspiration, and relish the chance to expand my mind for two days devoid of client assigned projects– thinking instead about how I can bring valued ideas to clients. I want to soak up the MDW gospel and become an evangelist for the same. I realize that there will be many people looking at MDW as a way to help them get a job. I am hoping it will help me do my job better, and in turn inspire all of those around me.

In order to further convince you that I should be given a seat at MDW, I have begun a social media campaign to get me there. By now there should be a few people utilizing the #MC4MDW hashtag on twitter, and maybe a few people who will have changed their avatar in support of my plight. I'm not sure exactly what this campaign will look like or how it will pan out, but that's kind of the point. The way I see it, this campaign will either be an overwhelming success, thus proving my worthiness to attend MDW, or it will fail gloriously and prove just how badly I need to attend MDW.

If you're reading this, please show your support. #MC4MDW

-Matt Chiabotti

Matt Chiabotti would make the best applicant for this seat. Choose him!

Matt chiabotti should go.

Why I want to come: to learn stuff.

Why I need to come: to learn stuff.

What I hope to leave with: new knowledge about stuff.

What motivates/inspires/encourages me to attend: It's an opportunity... to meet people; to hear and share ideas; to gain "digital know-how".

Three years ago, I hated my dead-end, brainless job. And it wasn't the first. So I took a risk, went back to school, and got a new degree. A digital degree. It was a risk that has paid off, so far. I now work in a digital job. It's a good job, and I am happy to have it. I have some chances to do cool, innovative, digital stuff.

But I want to do more. I want to learn more. I want to know more about the cool, innovative, digital stuff that other people and companies are doing. I want this, not only to feed my own brain, but also to maybe bring some of those ideas and innovations back home to my own people and company, so that we can all take a step forward in our digital world.

Our digital world, with a digital mind of its own... constantly evolves at break-neck pace. It races ahead, forcing us to sprint just to keep up. That's part of the reason we love it (and sometimes hate it). "Keeping-up" is a constant challenge, and this event looks like a great way to even the race just a bit.

Hand me the baton, I'm ready to run.

I vote for supporting and investing in our local talent - choose Matthew Chiabotti!

I'm a digital immigrant who has been self taught and it's time to learn face to face.
Non stop clicking, learning, and building has helped me create a digital ecosystem utilizing much of the social media tools available. the advantage of one person is that there are no committees to decide what to try.
So I try em all.
The disadvantage of one, is that you can't create wholly in a vacuum, so after 3 years of seminar swimming, core conversationing, at SXSW, it's time to get intense with those of like minds and continue the growth.

And I share it all. No secrets, no hidden behind the curtain attitude.

Spreading a passion for the new ways we can communicate, is part of my DNA.
With a blend of solid craft and 6 years in the digital space, BDW is the place I most want to learn at, to help blur the lines and utilize all of the skill sets.

Hope you pick me. Denver should be beautiful that time of year

Mastermind Matt Chiabotti #MC4MDW

I think you're all going about it all wrong.
three words:
I've got snacks!

Greetings from the South, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. You know the place that meets an awesome stereotype of where A&E's Billy the Exterminator and The History Channel's Swamp People converge. If you didn't know any better, you would be surprised that I can not only read and write, but also have one of those shiny laptop things that makes pretty pictures.

Regardless of the perception, Baton Rouge is a great town. I've lived here my whole life. While we don't have the mega advertising agencies that big cities do, we do in fact have a lot of creative shops that can hold their own. I proudly work for one of them, Xdesign. It's the oldest in the city. We just turned 21 years old this past spring. I've been part of the great team for 4 years now, ever since graduating from Louisiana State University. I am also president-elect of the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge, a great group of about 200 advertising professionals that share a passion for this industry just like I do. The knowledge that I gain by attending Making Digital Work benefits not only myself and my fellow team at Xdesign, but also benefit the advertising professionals of Baton Rouge. We never stop learning.

At Xdesign, we've always prided ourselves on being the best creative shop in the Gulf South. This determination has led to hundreds (no exaggeration) of creative awards in the discipline of traditional advertising on the local, regional and national levels. However, even with all the traditional advertising success it's time to take that thinking, media, and execution and apply it to the next level. We can't just rely solely on our traditional mindset nor solely on a digital mindset. It's time to integrate them. It's time to ask new questions and produce new answers. It's time for the south to embrace digital thinking and push ourselves. It's time to break the traditional workspace thinking that a copywriter, art director, and designer are the ONLY people that create an effective message that builds a brand. It's time to put them in a room along with social strategists, mobile, UX, and UI and awe in the collaboration. It's time to think beyond 30 column inches of a newspaper. Simply, it's time for us to think differently. This is the hardest task I have ever been assigned. With your help, I'm ready to take our team there.

I've learned so much in the 4 short years I have been in the industry. The most important thing I have learned is to never stop learning. Everyday I'm inspired by not only my peers but by 140 dense characters for people I could only wish I had the privilege of meeting. I need to learn more.

As Gary Vaynerchuk says in the opening pages of "Crush it"..."As long as you are willing to live and breathe your passion you'll no longer differentiate between your work life and your personal life. You'll just live, and love doing it."

I love this city, and I love this industry. Hopefully, I'll be able to visit your great city in August.
