  • Chris O'Shea's Hand From Above

    / Comments (0)

Hand From Above encourages us to question our normal routine when we often find ourselves rushing from one destination to another. Inspired by Land of the Giants and Goliath, we are reminded of mythical stories by mischievously unleashing a giant hand from the BBC Big Screen. Passersby will be playfully transformed. What if humans weren’t on top of the food chain? Unsuspecting pedestrians will be tickled, stretched, flicked or removed entirely in real-time by a giant deity.

Hand from Above is a joint co-commission between FACT: Foundation for Art & Creative Technology and Liverpool City Council for BBC Big Screen Liverpool and the Live Sites Network. It premiered during the inaugural Abandon Normal Devices Festival.

    / Comments (2)

(CNN) – Officials are trying to rescue a 6-year-old boy who climbed into a balloon-like experimental aircraft built by his parents and floated into the sky over eastern Colorado.

The boy’s family had been building the experimental aircraft at their home on Fossil Ridge Road in Fort Collins, CNN affiliate KUSA reported.

The family has described the structure as a a dome-shaped “homemade flying saucer,” Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Kathy Davis said.

“We’re trying to determine the best course of action,” Davis said. “This is a first and we’ll do what we need to do.”

UPDATE: The thing’s on the ground near DIA, with no kid inside. Very strange story.

UPDATE UPDATE: The kid was found hiding in his attic inside a box at home. Very costly game of hide and seek.

  • Ralph Lauren Continues The Skinny Chick Controversy

    / Comments (1)

By now, you’ve likely heard about the sorry, retouched Ralph Lauren ad, featuring a super-skinny model, that’s been making the rounds, causing quite the stir with RL’s lawyers at Boing Boing and Photoshop Disasters – who originally unearthed the ad.

It seems the same over exuberant retoucher (or his cousin?) has been hard at work on lots of Ralph Lauren marketing materials. Photoshop Disasters has just discovered another mess, by way of a window display for Ralph Lauren out of Sydney. Ralph, Ralph.
