  • The Ever-Fickle Chipotle Boots Another One

AgencySpy reported late on Friday that Denver-based Chipotle has severed its relationship with San Francisco based Butler Shine Stern & Partners. ‘Creative differences’ were cited as the reason for the split. Media duties have landed at Minneapolis agency Compass Point Media and creative will be handled by the in-house team.

While we’re hopeful that things can only improve from the dreadful work they’ve been running, we’re beginning to wonder whether Chipotle’s ping-ponging between ad shops is an indicator that they need to do some maturing as a company before selecting a new creative agency. Taking their work in-house might be the smartest move they could make right now.

  • Cactus New Year Card

    / Comments (1)

Cactus is feeling optimistic and wants to share their warm fuzzies with the world. So they created a New Year’s card in the form of a Resolution Cactus kit. It was mailed complete with a collection of 30 resolutions – from beatboxing to lion taming to woo-hooing – designed to inspire and amuse. The kits were mailed with 30 cards and a diagram to use as a reference for building the Cactus.

Cactus Designer Jorge Lamora came up with the initial concept for the card. He wanted to send people something fun and interactive that would last longer than just the initial opening of the card. Like a Rubik’s cube or Bucky balls, the Cactus can be a desk figurine to fiddle with all year long. Copy, design and production of the Cactus were a collective effort and Sprint printed the kits.
