>> Futuristic Films, Denver has added four directors to its roster.
Ondi Timoner: Timoner is the only director to win a Sundance grand jury award twice in the festival’s history. Her first Sundance grand jury award came with “DIG!,” a fascinating documentary about rock bands The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre. In 2009, “We Live In Public” earned her a second Sundance grand jury award, a movie that chronicles the rise and fall of Harris, “the greatest Internet pioneer you’ve never heard of.” Her commercial projects have included work for Ford, McDonald’s, State Farm, and the US Army.
Jamin Winans: Working in film since childhood, Winans has directed numerous short films, music videos, two feature films, and several commercials – including a Silver Addy-winning viral campaign for Motorola. His acclaimed short film, “Spin” competed in more than 80 film festivals worldwide garnering over 40 awards. Winans is currently releasing his second feature film, “Ink” theatrically to rave reviews. Ain’t It Cool News calls “Ink” the “new it film” saying, “INK is a lock to achieve cult phenomenon status, and launch the career of Jamin Winans into the stratosphere. If you want to see something you’ve never seen before, INK is a must-see film.”
Nicholaus Goossen: Goossen was a first-time feature director at the age of 26, making the cult-classic “Grandma’s Boy” for 20th Century Fox. His new film, “The Shortcut”, is a PG-13 thriller Executive Produced by Adam Sandler and distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment. Recently, he has directed a number of music videos for such artists as Mickey Avalon, Shwayze, Benji Madden, Dirt Nasty, Andre Legacy, and of course Adam Sandler. Goossen has millions of hits on YouTube and has also created several shorts for Funny Or Die as well as directed spots for MTV, T-Mobile, Comedy Central, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Bill Timmer: Timmer began his career working in public television, moving from cameraman to director, specializing in investigative and documentary production. His projects have covered everything from shooting while traveling down the Amazon River to staking out organized crime figures. Best known as a commercial director, he is also a Clio award-winning editor and worked as a director of photography and visual design on Industrial Light and Magic’s first all digital feature film. Timmer has directed projects for such iconic international brands as American Express, Sony, Gatorade, Snickers, Volkswagen, and Frosted Flakes. Before joining Futuristic, Timmer was represented by Los Angeles-based Form.
>> Silver Chalice Ventures, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chicago White Sox, has officially announced the launch of Silver Chalice New Media – its digital-focused division working with clients to create, implement, and monetize new media assets online and via mobile platforms. Silver Chalice New Media has offices in Boulder and Chicago.
>> Market Creation Group (MCG), a premier business-to-business technology marketing firm, has acquired Brand M Studios, a full-service creative design firm that provides high-end web, interactive, print, online marketing, and visual identity design for B2B clients.
>> New Age Dad, a band full of industry peeps, has released the first song in their new digital single delivery format: Little Man.
>> The inaugural MAC Snow Challenge to be held Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Loveland Ski Area, hosted by and a fundraiser for Loveland Racing Club, invites teams from Colorado’s marketing, advertising and creative community (MAC) to a downhill race. Teams of four, including at least one female, will run two timed courses for trophies and prizes. Skiers and snowboarders will race for their company, themselves in gender/age group matchups and for their respective trade association. Register here.
