Helping Denver/Boulder Suck Less: XYZ Graphics
In their own words, XYZ is an image creation company that collaborates with visual communication leaders worldwide to enhance their brands using state of the art creative technologies. In our words, these guys are killing it and you can absolutely find use for them on a daily basis.
XYZ Graphics is a group of artists, producers and technicians with expertise in all parts of the print and web world—who can step into the process whenever you need them. What do they do? Very impressive CGI, photography and retouching work for the top agencies in the world (180, 72&sunny, BBDO, CP+B, Deutsch, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Saatchi & Saatchi, AKQA, Venables Bell & Partners, the list goes on and on)—as well as Colorado’s best shops.
They also do that behind-the-scenes dirty work you’d likely love to hand off when you get too slammed, including project management, assembly and file prep, and asset management. i’ve worked with xyz both here and in SF and they are fantastic to work with. lots of talent and personality over there.
Yikes, XYZ is off the hook. It is good to know that somebody is “putting” our name on the map. I love how each image has so much thunder in it, from the solid re-touching to the imagery used as a base.
Be sure to click through and see some of their retouching before and afters. That fourth image of the guy mowing his lawn is seriously impressive.
re: putting denver on the map.
boulder is the smallest of the xyz locations. by a lot. in fact, i can count them on one hand. all of the above images were made at the larger locations, i believe in SF. if i’m not mistaken, they were all made by Sam Nordemann, who is NOT based in CO.
don’t get me wrong, XYZ is great and the boulder location is fantastic. i just don’t think they should be considered “local” talent.
XYZ is a great company with an incredible dedication for making great ads sing. In the world today production occurs online, over the phone, – in the ether- its nice and convenient that Boulder has an XYZ office, but make no mistake working in advertising is a not a local project – regardless of its base. I myself (Boulder based) worked with the (SF and Boulder based) Sam N. but we both did the whole project together in LA – just goes to show advertising is a co-creative effort by people all over these days. It’s not limited to our backyard :) CP+B itself works together with it’s brother and sister offices in Miami and Boulder, with offices in Venice Beach and London
