Vote On Digital Events
We’re on the fence about Digital Events, a local production company that sent us a link to their site. So, we thought we’d ask your opinion. Have you ever worked with them? Do you know anything about them? What do you think of their reel? Their client list seems impressive. Their work seems technically sound. They just don’t seem to be pushing it as hard as they could. Your thoughts?

I know someone who used to freelance there… Evan DiLeo, He’s a super talented guy. A good portion of DE’s demo reel is his work. Its actually stuff he did while attending the Art Institute of CO. If you ask me it seems a little off to sort of hack and slash someone’s demo reel from school. I think they have done some good stuff but overall need to slow down on using other people’s work to show their strengths. You can check out Evan’s work at zero-version.com
It looks good to me. I’ve never worked with them, but I certainly think they qualify for the recommended talent list. They seem talented and, while they maybe don’t seem to push as hard as they could, we can not know the reasons for that.
I’m not one for excuses, but my point is that the work they do seems talented and I for one have a feeling that given free reign they could do some groundbreaking stuff.
They’re talented. They’re local. They deserve a spot on the list.
Thank you for the comments. We’ll be making the voting system a regular thing, so stay tuned.
I agree and disagree with above. One, using a designer’s work primarily for a company’s real is wrong. But nothing is ground breaking about their work. many of the featured MTV gigs are nothing more that stylistic recreations of original designs created by LA firms for other media formats. In order to be successful in motion design, a firm must create new material for every new product that they put out, or at least give proper credit where it is due. They definitely do have a lot of potential if they can keep it going and look forward to seeing the future. And a side not, the website duplicates itself in flash and html. Pick a style and go with it.
