Visual expression has always been a strong calling… first as a painter, a graphic designer and a photo editor. I now focus solely on “the frame” as an award-winning photographer, having honed my craft with mentors from Mary Ellen Mark, to my childhood neighbor Sally Mann and a variety of established National Geographic photographers. I photograph people, community and culture with empathy, authenticity and curiosity. I take pictures for magazines, art buyers, ad agencies and non profits. My goal is to capture that illusive moment that one will never experience again. Between assignments I have pursued my passion, which is bringing light to human rights issues, in Ecuador, India, Nepal, Mexico, and Southeast Asia.... using my camera to document issues I feel compelled to help eradicate: child trafficking, sex slavery, and birth defects. My strengths lie in my ability to connect with my subjects, real people, and create a relaxed and supportive environment in which to work together. This genuine human need, I’ve always found, is the key ingredient to a successful and compelling shoot. Client List: National Geographic Adventure, New York Times, US News and World Report, Fast Company, Southern Living Magazine (where I was a staff Travel photographer for 2.5 years recently), Ski & Skiing, Climbing, Outside, Yoga Journal, Rangefinder, Better Nutrition, amongst others. Awards & Recognitions: National Geographic – Ethnographic portrait Santa Fe Photography – Review Santa Fe + 1 Honorable Mention for Portraiture Represented by: Aurora & Quanta Photo Stock Agency and Getty Images
