Sterling-Rice Group
Creative Interns
Sterling-Rice Group (SRG) is looking for hungry creative interns with a strong desire to be part of the type of work that makes others jealous. You should already be in hot pursuit of a career in either copywriting or art direction (with a strong focus on digital) and already equipped with a promising portfolio to prove just that. While not required, copywriter and art direction candidates who can submit themselves as a team are a plus.
Responsibilities:
As a copywriter/art director, you will be required to jump in and help out with anything and everything from specific client assignments, to new business pitches, to even presenting case studies of work that you admire in the industry. You will be a sponge. You will ask questions. You will challenge thinking. You'll be counted upon for your unique talent of getting things done awesomely, assisting the creative and production department and beyond. You will be one of us. Fighting the good fight.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include strong strategic and creative thinking on a consistent basis, good organization and communication skills, initiative, and a sense of curiosity, plus (we'll repeat it again) a strong interest in pursuing a career in the advertising field. You must be a strong team player with proven ability to work with multiple teams. In addition, art director candidates must be wonderfully proficient in digital. That means you have an in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript—and, an intense hatred for bad typography. Aspiring copywriters, you must be able to write, a lot, about anything. So in the meantime, practice by writing an operatic piece on water filtration systems to assist the burgeoning mining industry outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico. You get the idea.
Ideal candidates will be able to work 15-20 hours a week, which should comprise of 1-2 full workdays in our downtown Boulder office. The hourly rate for this position will be $11.00/hour. These positions will begin in September and end in December.
To apply, go to http://www.srg.com/careers/creative-interns and submit a resume and cover letter, including hours of availability for the fall. Please also include a portfolio that presents up to 5 examples of your best work, either as a link or PDF file.
