Intern IT Support
Primary Responsibility: Work with the Internet Technology (IT) Support staff on PC upgrades, new hire information and virtual desktop environments, focusing on the operations activities of an IT Help Desk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Install operating system and other applications for deployment to internal customers.
•Transfer customer files/documents, ensuring data integrity.
•Transfer customer settings to create a seamless customer experience.
•Document operational process for creating and testing workstation image.
•Document operational process for post-configuration of workstation.
•Responsible for collecting and documenting information new hires need to know from IT (i.e. contact info, passwords, how to, best practices, policies, etc.)
•Responsible for developing the best way to get new hire information to a new hire (i.e. meeting with tech, website, hard copy, etc.)
•Involved in testing and evaluating different virtual desktop environments; including writing up an evaluation based on the end user experience and could include evaluating security, network/infrastructure impact, financial impact and support differences of different solutions.
•Work side by side with desktop technicians to learn how IT support works within the organization, learning customer service, organization, communication and general troubleshooting/IT skills.
•Document computer workstation deployment process.
•Freshmen through graduate level course work at an accredited college/university with a major in Information Technology or similar discipline; an academic grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4 point scale for the most recent academic session (quarter/semester).
•Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project software applications.
•Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
