MommyCon is a traveling conference for naturally-minded modern parents. We trek across the country hosting events in 8-10 cities per year to bring innovative concepts around topics like; babywearing, breastfeeding, birth, cloth diapering, and the best baby gear to our attendees. We are a small but fun and motivated team and have an opening for a graphic design intern from March until May.
+Learn & perform basic skills in event planning & design under supervision of our Program & Art director
+Create small web graphics for social media campaigns
+Work on basic photo editing and filing to assist in creating post-event recaps for sponsors
+Assist in creating trade show signage and other print materials from conception to delivery
+Work with well-known brands to market their products and services through MommyCon with graphics, ads and our blogger affiliate program
+Learn how we utilize social media to interact directly with consumers to grow our brand and help to create content
+Create newsletter content & help maintain customer service related contact with our attendees
+Work on basic wordpress skills by helping to upkeep sponsor logos, ads, and other minor editing under supervision of our Art Director
Skills & Qualifications:
+Strong motivation to learn
+Excellent written and verbal skills
+Excellent time management and organizational skills
+Graphic design background, either working toward a certification or degree or sufficient self-taught experience within another related program
+Eye for good, clean design
Experience in the following required:
+Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Facebook
Experience in the following not required but helpful:
+Mail Chimp, Rafflecopter, Instagram, Woobox, Twitter, Wordpress, Google Docs
This internship is a time commitment of 5 to 15 hours per week with the heavier weeks near each event date. There are two events in April and one we will be prepping for during the internship that occurs in June. Time is flexible, as this is a work-at-home position with the exception of a few scheduled work hours per week in person to collaborate with the Art Director. You must provide your own computer with at minimum Adobe Photoshop CS5 software and access to the internet. Our team is placed in different states and cities and we work as a group via phone conferences and skype when necessary. This internship position does not require travel to events as it focuses on the behind the scenes process. After the position ends, a review will take place with the opportunity to become a permanent part of our team, helping crunchy moms one city at a time!
