THE WORK AREA
The function of the Marketing Department is to generate demand for GVI products among both travel agents and consumers. Specifically, that means promotional direction and execution, external communication to our key audience, and strategic direction for product. Key internal audiences include sales, customer care and customer sales.

THE ROLE
The role of a Creative Department Intern is to serve as an internal resource for Creative Services and Marketing needs including: photo library database, meta-data and organization, coordination and communication of various creative materials and tasks, and provide support on any/all marketing activities.

THE POSITION
The preferred candidate will be assigned the following tasks and projects in the Creative and Web Departments:
Photo library database, organization, collection & structure:
• Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, input of reference fields for all photos, both royalty free (RF) and rights managed (RM)
• Gather all RF, RM & Employee photos to be uploaded & assigned accordingly, including inclusion of meta-data
• Complete photo file-naming system to be accessed by all marketing teams: Folder and file naming convention system
• New DAM integration (i.e.: Xinet) to facilitate all Photography database needs for internal and external use
Web development team; organization, files, projects, etc:
• Web photo inventory, keyword definitions and integration
• Web content support of new Globus stories and photos by vacation and destination
• Assist in product loading and connecting vacation content with new photos and the Digital Asset Management system
• Minor design tasks; ie: web maps, images, graphics, web site testing, file-naming, organization, etc.
• Hardcopy filing, organization of files & systems, both on- & off-line
Organization, filing & various tasks, Marketing Department:
• Promotion database entry tasks including uploading and configuring various data
• Record complete brochure photo list (post-brochure season) for billing and financial reference
• Export & download all brochure maps (post-brochure season) to On Demand (Digital Asset management system)
• Hardcopy filing, organization of files & systems, brochures, marketing materials, etc.

EDUCATION
The preferred candidate will be working toward (a Bachelor’s degree in a related Marketing or Communications field at a local university or college

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:
• Researching principals and tactics including internet-conducted research 2+ years of experience with Graphic Design applications including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) along with minimal Web design & production capabilities.
• Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Entourage, Outlook and Visio.
• Knowledge and understanding of print press production procedures involving projects such as brochures, catalogs, direct mail materials, flyers, postcards, etc.
• Understanding marketing principals, advertisement design and promotional concepts
• Knowledge of leisure travel industry a plus.
