Summary:
Denver Zoo’s Marketing & Communications Department is looking for a multi-talented graphic design intern to support the zoo’s mission to secure a better world for animals by creating visual graphic elements that help promote the zoos events and programs. This unique position will provide support to the graphic designers by designing compelling graphic elements for print and online communications, while ensuring the consistency of the zoo’s brand. This individual will create some original content and support the zoo’s graphic designers on other projects as assigned. This designer creates visual solutions to Denver Zoo’s communication needs including the development of brochures, signage and flyers to promote programs and events.
*This is an unpaid internship.

Job Duties:

1. Design and create signage, brochures, flyers and other print material
2. Facilitates print production

Minimum Requirements:
Must be familiar with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem solving skills
• Keen sense of design and ability to maintain brand consistency
• Proficiency with the entire Adobe Creative Suite required
• Strong knowledge of print and production processes
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership of projects
• Excellent verbal communication and ability to interface with internal teams
• Ability to both multitask and reliably estimate time required to complete design and production tasks
• Detail-oriented and great organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Must have an enthusiastic hands-on approach to getting the job done
• Strong portfolio of print design & production work
• Willingness and desire to be a supportive team member
