Cactus

Social Media Internship

Type of work: Internship
Location: Denver, CO
Company URL: http://sharpideas.com
Date Posted: April 16th, 2013
Description:

At Cactus, we know that great portfolios and resumes are not built on trips to the coffee shop and other menial tasks. They're built on hard work and real advertising experience. Sure “real advertising experience” includes the occasional menial task, but we promise to keep them to a minimum. Instead you will get 9-weeks of real, career-building experience. The highlight? A campaign you’ll create with the other interns for your very own client. At the end of the summer, you’ll have work for your portfolio or resume. And absolutely no clue what hot beverage their boss drinks. Which we think is a good thing.

Description:
Do you check your Facebook before getting out of bed in the morning? Are you a mayor on Foursquare? Do you know you Klout within a point or two without looking? Then you might be just the person we are looking for.

Position Summary / Responsibilities:
The social media intern will play an active role in the monitoring, evaluation, execution and strategic planning of social media efforts for both Cactus and agency clients. S/he will work closely with all the departments at Cactus to develop integrated strategy and earned media tactics including PR, digital, mobile, blogs, forums and all social media platforms. The social media intern will have the opportunity to actively participate in the creation of a social media campaign from start to finish, gaining exposure to all agency roles and processes.

Requirements:
This internship is designed for college juniors and seniors. Our internships are unpaid and potential candidates can receive academic course credit from their college/university for program completion. We ask for a minimum of 30 hours per week. Education: College junior, senior or recent grad, some related experience, coursework or club involvement.
