Avocet Communications is a full-service marketing, advertising and PR firm with retail, consumer products and B-to-B clientele. We seek an organized, responsive creative intern with willingness to experience and learn in a vibrant marketing agency atmosphere.
Job Summary: Assist the Creative Department in servicing client accounts and respond to customers' requests as appropriate in order to support the creative goals of the agency while gaining industry knowledge and invaluable experience. A stipend will be applied and the supervising Creative Director will write a letter of recommendation to the end of the term for the position. Title for this intern position will be Creative Assistant and can lead to a full-time paid position.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Pursuit of a Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
* Having recently obtained a Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
* Organized, flexible, attentive to detail, responsive, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of marketing principles.
* Knowledge of full-service marketing and advertising agency workflow.
* Ability to work individually and ability to handle self-driven projects efficiently with Account Executive direction.

* Pre-press, web and broadcast production skill sets
* Application of various technical aspects of the creative tools utilizing a wide range of software and equipment.

Responsibilities include: Day-to-day tactical production and design of projects, including the general organization of creative projects through the department; management of priorities with supervisor, account managers and other agency team members. A 2-3 day M-F 9-5:00pm scheduled commitment. Transportation expenses paid.
Qualifications:
*Must have a working knowledge of design theory and knowledge of the creative process.
*Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to discuss and articulate ideas and concepts.
*Ability to accomplish projects and duties with ongoing supervision.
*Intermediate Adobe CS3 and CS4 skills.
*Some basic knowledge of the Final Cut editing software platform a plus.
*Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and other motion graphics software skills are also plus.
