Regional magazine seeks hard-working, talented and creative graphic designer looking for that big break

Who you are: You are an ego-less, smart designer with great promise. Possess a natural multi-tasking instinct, a fear of boredom and no qualms with over time. You are great under pressure, passionate, independent but you know when to ask the right questions, fully-committed and driven, organized and detailed oriented. You have desire to grow, and are willing to work hard to learn everything from editorial spreads to advertisements to marketing collateral. You are ready to work your way up the ladder within the industry and the company. The perfect candidate is a good communicator and an amazing problem solver and not only demands the best of him or herself but also helps others reach the company's high standards. You love to brainstorm, dwell in the creative process (but not too long) and your creations reflect the wants and needs of the creative team.
What you will do: Create eye-catching, award-winning designs that accurately convey the image and message of our clients and the magazine itself; brand-conscious and marketing-focused work; inspired, smart illustrations and designs that reflect the editorial message. Pride and a sense of passion must exist within this job. While helping to ensure deadlines are met, this artistic eye will also understand the fine line between the conviction in their work and flexibility to work under grueling deadlines in a fast-paced, highly pressurized environment and with delayed, and at times, dysfunctional co-workers.
• Coordinate with graphic team
• Coordinate with traffic manager on production flow, help prioritize, monitor quality and insure production team meets deadlines
• Report to Creative Director for job flow and creative approval
Design and Production Duties/Skills:
• Work with team to learn how to design agency quality advertising
• Strong skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. Skills in Dreamweaver. Flash, HTML and other web a plus.
• Strong understanding and use of typography, color, layout, design

The position is full time and salary is dependent on experience. Starting salary ranges from $28,000-$34,000 DOE and for the real go-getter, opportunity for growth in wage and responsibility in the not-so-distant future with 3 month, 6 month and one year review opportunities.
