This is a new full-time, professional position in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS). The Website and Social Media Coordinator (payroll title: Business Services Professional) position is responsible for producing engaging content that is readable, searchable, actionable and sharable across all types of online/digital media; web development and management, which includes implementing web content strategy; coordinating, researching new content ideas; writing, developing and publishing web and marketing content to a high standard that appropriately and accurately represents SSPPS; creating editorial content calendars and reviewing with supervisors, following marketing funnels to determine the accuracy and relevancy of existing content; rafting, analyzing and adjusting targeted messaging, compelling headlines and call-to-action links that result in improved website click-through rates and goal conversions; creating graphics and digital images of high quality for use throughout the site; developing systems for organizing and disseminating reusable content; follows best practices with search engine optimization (SEO); measuring, analyzing and reporting key trends in campaign performance by tactic, creative, offer and segment/market to maximize student acquisition; analyzing audience and degree program research and creating targeted content for prospective students with relevant messaging and actionable trigger words, thus improving recruitment campaigns and persuasion architecture for websites; adapting offline materials for effective use online, leveraging existing content and create original content based on SSPPS’ goals; monitoring website for stale and expired content and broken links, and soliciting revisions; maintaining website consistency, ensuring new information does not conflict with existing information in terms of content and writing style; establishing and leading a working group for website content and technical issues and offering solutions for resolution; submitting website development ideas to Website Committee; helping develop departmental guidelines, policies, and standards for the content and presentation of the website; communicating the policies of the committee to other departmental groups; analyzing, developing and maintaining social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others as they become available; staying current with best practices for new media, social media platforms and search marketing; maintaining school-wide e-mail list serves; and performing a variety of other duties as assigned or as necessary in an efficient, professional, customer-friendly manner.

The minimum qualifications for this position are graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in new media, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, computer science or a closely related field and one year of experience managing content and design of public websites. Preferred qualifications include Adwords Certification; excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; strong understanding of website analytics and search engine optimization monitoring tools, preferably Google Analytics; self-starter who can work autonomously and across teams with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload; ability to build professional and effective relationships with a diverse audience, including faculty, administration, students, alumni and external constituents; advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, PhotoShop, HTML, web content management systems (CMS), preferably SharePoint Excel; uses knowledge of SharePoint, Drupal, Sitecore, Wordpress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PhotoShop and graphics presentation software; and a record of success in project management. The salary range for this position starts at $42,000 and the University of Colorado offers a full benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance, retirement, twenty-two days of vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
