Q Digital Studio is seeking a talented front-end web developer to join our team. We design and build websites, web applications and online marketing plans for an international client base. Our office is located in Lower Highlands Denver. We have a creative, flexible, and community-oriented culture, with opportunities to work from home part-time and contribute to the web design/dev community. In addition to client work, we have our own studio projects, including an online magazine for web folks (http://themetaq.com) and a guide to Colorado craft breweries (http://brew.by). Skills and experience requirements:

• 2+ years experience
• Advanced-level HTML5 / CSS 3
• Experience building responsive layouts
• Proficient with cross-browser issues, testing and fixes
• Beginner/intermediate-level jQuery
• Familiarity with one or more CMSs
• Great team player
• Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently
• Competency in Photoshop and Illustrator

One or more of these attributes will set you apart:

• Experience with one or more of the CMSs and frameworks we use: ExpressionEngine, Ruby on Rails, Statamic
• Familiarity with version control (esp. Git)
• Experience with generating or updating information architecture (site map, wireframes)
• Familiarity with OOCSS (Object-oriented CSS)
• Design experience such as web design, logo, identity or print design
• Comfortable communicating with clients

Job Details:

• This is a contract-to-hire position.
• Contract position starts immediately. Hire after 30 days.
• You will primarily work on original HTML/CSS builds and website updates.
• Your secondary role will be to install/configure/update CMSs. (We will train you on using our preferred CMSs: ExpressionEngine and Statamic.)
• In addition, we want you to spend time on best practices in the industry and write and/or present about them as part of our team. (see our online magazine http://themetaq.com)
• We will also get you acquainted with our custom web app Brew.by (guide to Colorado craft breweries - http://brew.by) and you’ll be part of development, testing, and feature selection.
• You must work at our studio some of the time, you can work at home the rest of the time. (If you’re not located in the greater Denver area, please do not apply.)
• You will be paid hourly. (You get paid for every hour you work!)
• A typical workday is 8am - 4pm. (We won’t ask you to work on weekends.)
