Portico is seeking a Graphic Designer to create and assist with creative development of a variety of print and electronic materials for Portico. Working along side a team the Graphic Designer will assist with the development of marketing and advertising materials and assist in the generation of creative marketing ideas and solutions. Primarily, this will consist of developing printed materials, emails, digital materials, presentations and custom artwork, in close collaboration with project leaders and other designers to ensure that all materials adhere to graphic standards, uphold the integrity of the brand and meet objectives set forth at the outset of each project. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with great attention to detail and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to gain experience in an exciting, fast-paced internal agency environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Execute projects based on interpretation of concepts, project owner’s marketing objectives, and knowledge of the business involved.
•Work on projects spanning all internal departments while building an overall expertise on the brand.
•Understand and implement information hierarchy
•Conceptualize, design and prep for pre-press production of materials such as literature, collateral, direct mail, event graphics, web art and electronic media and sales support materials.
•Programming and updating code for HTML
•Responsible for solving any design problems that arise in a project and recommending alternatives to meet the concept and objectives of the project.
•Strong typographic principals, layout skills and print production. Ability to communicate design activities in the development of materials.
•Collaborate with team to ensure all deadlines are met and have the ability to work well under pressure, handling several projects simultaneously.
•General administrative duties: Phone calls, email, organization, file preparation, maintaining graphic file archives, etc.

EXPERIENCE:
•Intermediate understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and Microsoft PowerPoint REQUIRED.
•Broad understanding of other Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
•HTML knowledge & skills required
•Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple important tasks
•Ability to work closely with team to meet deadlines
•Confidence and know-how to manage projects independently
•Exemplary interpersonal skills
•Outstanding communication skills and a cooperative attitude in a team environment
•Able to develop strong working relationships with internal peers
•Typography skills, composition skills and color sense
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, professionalism and a positive attitude
•The ability to take direction, work on multiple projects simultaneously, take on new responsibilities and work in deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Education, Certification/Minimum Qualifications:
•A Bachelor's degree and related experience, in a design studio, an ad agency, or an in-house marketing department
