Type of work: Full-Time
Location: San Francisco, CA
Date Posted: January 6th, 2014
Description:

If you love stories.
If you love words and characters.
If you love the moving image and making things.
If you know something, but not everything.
If you're curious, and energetic, and adventurous.
If you're eager to bring all that to bear on commercials, short films, documentaries and much, much more.

This is your chance.

Heist (www.heistprojects.com) is currently hiring a junior writer/researcher/filmmaker to help develop commercial and non-commercial projects at Heist. The junior writer/researcher/filmmaker will be researching ideas, writing treatments, tracking down great characters, pitching concepts, developing stories, scripting spots, creating mood boards, writing web copy, assisting with casting calls, social outreach, location scouts and shoots.

Heist is a full-service commercial production and post-production company. We create content for many of the world's best-known brands. As 2014 commences, Heist is setting up a filmmaking fund to produce non-commercial content as well - short films, short docs, music videos, pro bono advertising, serialized content, viral weirdness - basically anything and everything.

The junior writer/researcher/filmmaker will help drive that effort.

We're looking for folks who are passionate about story and film - people who love words and characters. People with ideas - thousands of them. People whose curiosity sometimes gets the better of them.

This is a full-time, salaried, entry-level position with benefits. More importantly, it's a terrific springboard into the world of film. The ideal candidate is a talented writer with some prior production experience, eager to dive right in and do great things.
