Job Description:

Write about something you can truly stand behind. Join Craftsy, as an integral part of the Free Content team, crafting impactful copy across a variety of mediums, worldwide. The Junior Copywriter is a creative thinker with excellent follow-through, and amazing prowess as a wordsmith. S/he will understand and appreciate our fine art, photography, cooking, and machine embroidery class audiences, focusing primarily on composing email marketing campaigns, website product descriptions, print advertisements, events-related collateral, and more. Beyond that, the Junior Copywriter will contribute innovative ideas for developing and refining our copy strategy to help achieve Craftsy’s business objectives while exceeding creative expectations.


Develop effective copy for our fine art, photography, cooking, and machine embroidery audiences to promote our classes and eCommerce offerings
Create clear, persuasive, original messaging for email sends, website product descriptions, print advertisements, events-related collateral, etc
Proofread for accuracy and quality
Make data-driven recommendations to improve results
Take on new initiatives as needed


College degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge of fine art, photography, cooking, machine embroidery, yarns, and fabrics
Experience copywriting, preferably for clients in the fields of fine art, photography, cooking, and/or machine embroidery
Experience working on successful email marketing campaigns
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of cross-functional teams and willingness to take on responsibilities outside primary job description when necessary
Experience working in a fast-paced, fluid, startup environment
Ability to take direction and run with it
