The office of Government, Policy and Public Relations (GPPR) within the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) directs communications between the Department, the Governor’s office, the Legislature, Congress, other agencies and the general public. This position will be responsible for supporting the Unemployment Division’s communications efforts through video, web, and graphic design support. Contribute to the agency’s overall communications to Unemployment Insurance (UI) customers through planning, analyzing, and developing concepts for external and internal web, print, and video communications. Assists with the planning, creation, and implementation of various UI applications and websites in regard to recent user experience best practices. Manage and maintain graphic files including logos, photos, videos, fonts, and other supporting art. Collaborate with UI Policy and Communications to develop web and video communications strategies to target audiences. Assist with creating and maintaining content on the UI Division’s intranet, internet and social media sites.
Design planning and consultation:
Plans with GPPR staff to produce internal and external communications such as Unemployment Insurance videos, brochures, guides, forms, and website content. Meets with members of CDLE Communications Council, UI Communications Action Team, and UI Policy on a regular basis to inventory current and future design projects to ensure CDLE branding and consistent look and feel are represented.
Web design, content and implementation:
Create content for and assist in maintenance of UI websites.In conjunction with the Creative Director and UI Communications and Policy, assist with content creation and maintenance of UI Division intranet and internet sites, including applications. Provide feedback and analysis on design, architecture and functionality. Assist in maintaining content on division social media sites and coordinate content from UI branches.
Industry design trends:
Industry design trends and video production best practices research.Research and share industry trends on web design technology and applications and video production standards.Make recommendations on innovative best practices for electronic publication production and distribution.
Design creation and execution:
Plan, analyze, create, and implement UI external communications and collateral materials including videos, forms, brochures and online content. Create and distribute templates for marketing materials. Manage and maintain graphic files including logos, photos, videos, fonts, and other art. Communicate design and brand standards to appropriate staff.
Utilize current video industry standards to create scripts, storyboards, shoot video, and produce videos for UI communications. Create video templates and manage and maintain video files, graphics, and produced videos.

A bachelor's degree in graphic design, graphic management, or multimedia and one year of solid graphic design experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in all areas listed below:

Please identify your experience in the items listed above!
A combination of work experience in graphic design or multi media , which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree, but not the specific one year of professional experience as listed above. At the agencies discretion, demonstrated proficiency on position competencies may substitute for the required education and experience.

This position will also require experience with effective time management, presentation and analytical skills, plus demonstrated ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
