Job title: Media Planner/Buyer Strategist

Reports to: Senior Director of Brand Management

Summary:

Develops, executes, presents, and monitors internal media plans for assigned campaigns. Analyzes the audiences, content, and metrics of a wide range of media outlets. Serves as media liaison for internal strategy team and the external agency partner.

Work Schedule: Full Time Days

Daily roles and responsibilities:
Manages media planning and strategy discussions internally and external agency.
Works closely with all assigned teams with evaluation of media information necessary for the preparation of the media plan that best achieves the media objectives and strategies.
Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for all media/markets.
Utilizes media research, audience insights & data analytics to determine an optimal media mix.
Writes or oversees the writing of internal media plans and recommendations, presents to internal teams.
Leads paid social media journey mapping/buying with internal CRM and social team.
Works with strategy team in overall budgets and developing media objectives, strategies, target audiences and KPIs for measurement.
Implements, evaluates and tracks all approved media plans and projects including campaigns through external media agency partner.
Maintains the best possible relationship with clients, account service, creative/other agency departments and external agency.
Participates in regular internal client status meetings on all advertising campaigns.
Reviews all POPs to ensure all creative was trafficked and meets brand standards.
Monitors and reviews campaign metrics with external agency and strategy team.
Supports strategy team in writing media and creative briefs, leads media brief kick-off meeting with external agency and reviews media specs for creative tactic briefs.
Supports strategy team in presenting advertising/media campaign outcomes in campaign sunset meetings.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Skills and abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills).
Excellent organizational, negotiation, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail required.
Strong analytic skills and ability to relate results to client business objectives.
Proficient at managing multiple projects and able to multi-task, prioritize and structure workload.
Independent worker but also a proven ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to work with media planning and media research specific software, including MS Office programs and internal project management software.
Recognizes that relationships are critical to success and consistently adds value, improves strategies, and delivers guidance to all levels and teams.
Understands the breadth and depth of media analytics and can tell the story about how these analytics contribute to marketing ROI.
Is one of the first people to identify the trends and technology shaping the future of media and can translate these it into simple Points of View that make them relevant for internal team.
Understands and integrates digital, offline, and social media to effectively reach the right audience and deliver results.

Requirements:

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
Required Licensure/Certification: None required.
Minimum Experience: 4 years of media planning or buying experience. Preferred: Experience with change-management, process creation/deployment and managing multi-media campaigns within a traditional creative agency workflow process.
The pay range for this position is: $33.82 - $50.73 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
