Suggestions, please :)

I have booked my flight and made all arrangements for my trip to Denver, CO. I will be in the area for 3 weeks searching for jobs, touring apartments, setting up everything for the move, and sightseeing. Of course, I will be doing some touristy things, but I would love to know about all the local things! Please leave your suggestions :) If it helps: I adore books (not your typical Barnes and Noble), coffee (the real stuff), jazz (mostly from the 20's, 30's and 40's) and photography (and all of the other arts). All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi kd,

For books I'd check out the Tattered Cover. I personally like the Lodo store, but the one on Colfax is good too. I'd just avoid Highlands Ranch all together... it's not dangerous or anything, just bland. I'm not a coffee guy, but I hear Dazbog is good. El Chapultepec usually has some pretty good live jazz. Larimer Lounge and Cervantes are good if you like smaller indie bands. Check out the Santa Fe Art District for, well, art.

Take care and welcome to Denver!

Thank you for the suggestions, Terry. I am definitely planning to check out the Tattered Cover, and I will look for Dazbog, El Chapultepec, and the Santa Fe Art District as well.

I am looking forward to becoming apart of Denver :)

Keep the suggestions coming. I will be in Denver for 3 whole weeks, and I want plenty to explore. Thank you :)

Since you like books and music, then I'd suggest checking out Black and Read in Arvada. It's a new/used music and book store.

I would strongly suggest resorting to Yelp. : ) Good luck in your search.

Try looking at Citysearch, Westword.com and 5280.com
Have fun, good luck and know that it might take a little time for the job. Denver is very slow to hire. Lots of jobs, just a long, slow process. Stay vigilant. It's worth it.
Good Luck!

Twist and Shout, Dazzle, Colt and Grey is a good start. I second Tattered Cover.

Thank you all! My visit to Denver was wonderful. I didn't land the job I was hoping for, but I am definitely moving at the end of July. I look forward to being a resident of such an awesome state!
