• Denver Art Museum: Untitled #20 (TRIP) Recap

    / Comments (0)

Untitled is about offbeat encounters with art. Take a detour through the galleries with a neurologist, a cartographer, or a perfumer to see art through new eyes. Be crafty and strut your creative stuff. Get a good talking to from an art guru atop a soapbox. Groove to local sounds, take in some homegrown theatre, catch a Denver artist in action, and celebrate just how cool it is to live in this creative cow town.

We throw it all into the mix (along with a healthy dose of the unexpected), then sit back with a beer to watch what happens. Come on, try it. Everyone.

Rinse. Repeat. Every final Friday through September from 6 to 10.

Here’s a vid from the latest screen printing session.

  • Wednesday Eye Candy: Spillt's 2009 Summer Reel

    / Comments (5)

This week, for Wednesday Eye Candy, our friends at Denver design and motion graphics firm Spillt gave us a choice of two things to post—some illustrator’s portfolio or their very own 2009 summer reel, hot off the press. No choice there, baby.

After a year of long hours, amazing projects, a move to a bigger office and millions of key frames, we proudly present some serious visual mastery from what we’re now crowning as Denver’s top motion outfit. Bow your big head.

She’s got the coolest copywriter name we’ve ever heard: Marissa Ferrari. She’s also joined the ever-expanding editorial circle around here with a whole bunch of thoughts on cheese. Curious? Dig in.

  • You Scamp!

It may sound wanky, but when you look at hundreds of blogs day in and day out a few of them start to become places you really like hanging out online. Scamp was one those places for us. It was run by Simon Veksner, a copywriter at BBH London, and it was filled with pertinent, usable advice—not the ad/design porn most sites are pushing today (yeah, we know, even us). Two days ago, after 3 years, Simon called it quits on Scamp. He’s left a big hole where he once made us smarter.

P.S. Bump over to YouTube to watch the second one. The concept will be way clearer. (Thanks, Justin.)

Seems like ever since the Lakers came to town, Denver’s favorite thugs can’t catch a break…even on Jimmy Kimmell.
