Denver's pace-setting creative engine, Legwork, is out with a new site for their studio — and it's filled with all the wonderful touches we've come to expect. Here's a little background on the thinking behind what you'll see.
"We approached this new site with a few things in mind. First, we needed to do a better job of communicating our capabilities. We have a somewhat unique skill set and the old site was pretty ambiguous. When you look at the filters, layout, etc., our goal was to make it easy to immediately understand what kind of projects we work on.
Our next requirement was that it had to be modern in terms of style / technology. We went through way too many iterations because of this. (It only took us three years!) We ended up returning to simplicity with a flat design, using some canvas masking techniques we have been experimenting with and setting up a responsive layout. If you roll through the breakpoints, you can see how the nav and content adapt to a layout that is desktop friendly, then tablet friendly, then phone friendly from biggest to smallest.
The final and most important requirement was that we had to make sure our brand essence wasn't lost. We have always been slightly irreverent about what we do. We're constantly trying to find the balance between fun and professional, leaning a bit more towards the latter. Hopefully that comes through. Stay tuned, we are already working on new stuff for future releases."
