For years, IE6 has been that zitty-faced, socially inept cousin your mom (ie. client) makes you hang out with at every family function – when all you really want to do is hit on cute chicks and pound half-empty vodka tonics that Uncle Frank leaves behind. Or something like that.
Anyway, Google has officially put a stake in the ground, saying they're going to begin phasing out support for IE6 on March 1st, starting with Google Docs and Google Sites. The ugly cousin is being shipped off to band camp. Forever.
To celebrate, Denver's Aten Design Group is throwing the IE6 Funeral celebration. On Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., mourners will gather with fellow IE6 friends and loved ones at Forest Room 5, 2532 15th Street, Denver, CO 80211 to pay their respects.
Come mix and mingle with Denver’s top IE6 mourners. There will be a special time of remembrance, tapas and a full service bar. Prizes will be awarded for the best IE6 memory and the best dressed. Funeral attire encouraged.
